ROSE TIMELINE

over the course of a wacky and wild 24 hours, the Knicks lost and found their starting point guard. Derrick Rose went AWoL Monday and didn't show up to the Knicks' loss to the Pelicans that night at the garden. Meanwhile, officials, teammates and coaches had no idea of his whereabouts. Rose returned Tuesday for practice and revealed he'd flown to Chicago to deal with a "family issue." Here is a timeline of what went down, starting Monday morning. All times are approximate.
MONDAY
11 a.m. -- Derrick Rose participates in shootaround at the Knicks training facility in Westchester.
Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. -- after shootaround, Rose learns of a pressing family matter and boards a plane to chicago. he doesn't inform anyone in the organization that he's leaving. Rose meets up with his mother after landing in chicago. 6 p.m. -- Jeff hornacek tells reporters that every player on his roster is available against New orleans.
6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. -- Rose never shows up to the Garden. he's scratched from the starting lineup. The Knicks only say Rose is "not with the team." later, a club representative clarified that Rose's absence wasn't for "personal reasons." attempts to reach Rose come up empty. 7:41 p.m. -- Knicks and Pelicans tip off. brandon Jennings starts in place of Rose.
Sometime during game -- Rose contacts GM steve Mills. Rose had been ignoring calls from Knicks officials and teammates throughout the afternoon and evening before reaching out to Mills.
9:40 p.m. -- Final buzzer sounds in 11096 Knicks loss. 9:50 p.m. -- hornacek refuses to answer questions about Rose postgame. "Everything will become clear later on. We want to respect what he's going through," he says. 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. -- Teammates react to Rose's absence in the locker room after the loss. Jennings says he's "definitely concerned." Joakim Noah informs reporters he's spoken to Rose and says, "he's okay."
10:41 p.m. -- The Daily News' Frank isola reports there are "strong indications" Rose returned to chicago. Later that night -- Rose responds to hornacek's text and apologizes for leaving without saying anything to the team.
TuESDAY
Sometime that morning -- Rose takes a flight back to New York from chicago after resolving his family problem. he arrives at the Knicks facility and meets with Mills and team president Phil Jackson, who decide to fine Rose without suspending him. Noon -- Rose is in attendance at practice.
1:31 p.m. -- The Knicks' public relations Twitter account announces that Rose has rejoined the team and will be fined. "he is expected to be in uniform tomorrow in Philadelphia," the tweet reads. 1:35 p.m. -- When the session ends, reporters are allowed into the gym. Rose can be seen shooting free throws on the far court.
1:55 p.m. -- Rose reveals he was in chicago tending to a "family issue." "That's the first time i ever felt like that emotionally," Rose says, "and i had to be with my family."
2:10 p.m. -- hornacek says he is satisfied with how Mills and Jackson dealt with the situation.
